Boardwalk Empire: Season 3 HBO

Boardwalk Empire: HBO:  Season 3

If you have not watched Boardwalk Empire's first 2 seasons...you are missing a great series.

I am a huge fan of Steve Buscemi who plays Enoch"Nucky" Thompson...a mob boss that you hate to love...and I have grown to enjoy watching his live in girlfriend Kelly Macdonald: who plays Margaret Schroeder.  She is smart and unpredictable.  It is a complicated show...you have to pay close attention to know all the characters...

Buscemi's character "Nucky" is based on the real mobster who ruled Atlantic City during the prohibition era.

If you want to catch season 3, I would watch season 1 and 2 first so you will understand the dynamics...better hurry...3 is about to start...

Emily Owens, M.D.: New Series

Emily Owens, M.D. - This Fall The CW: Tuesdays 9/8c

I wanted to share this new series with you because I am a fan of Mamie Gummer who will play Emily Owens.  She is not new to entertainment scene, but  I watched her for the first time on a series on ABC called "Off the Map" I think it was a year or so ago...I liked the series but the series didn't last long.

Their was just something about her that I enjoyed...I wanted to watch her...then, I found out...she is the daughter of Meryl Streep.  Yes, she does look like her, but I dare to compare her to her mother.  I know I wouldn't want to be compared to my mom if I were following in her footsteps...it will be tough shoes to fill...but I think she just might slip right into those shoes...

I will be watching the first episode of Emily Owens, M.D. even though...I hate it is another medical drama...

Sparkle: Jordan Sparks

Sparkle:  In Theaters August 17th

American Idol's Jordan Sparks is in her first film and it will be out in Theaters August 17th.  Sparks plays an inspiring singer trying to break into Motown with her sisters...her mother is played by Whitney Houston...so I am sure the turnout to see this film will be huge as it will be Houston's last film.

I am guessing this film will have an amazing soundtrack!

Sparks was the youngest American Idol winner in the history of the show but it might be hard to make history in the film world as it will be hard to follow American Idol's Jennifer Hudson's success...she won an oscar for her first film...but lets see if Sparks can transition to the screen...

I am look forward to seeing the film and hearing the soundtrack.

Josh Henderson: Star Power

Josh Henderson:  John Ross Ewing:  Dallas 2012

I wrote about Dallas a few weeks ago and told you how much I liked it.  The series gets better and better each episode.  The acting and the talent pool is unmatched.

Someone I have not seen before but I know is about to make a huge splash in the Hollywood pool is Josh Henderson.  He is a natural and between his ability to draw you in and his good looks...he is going to be around for a long time...he won't be just a fly by night...I am predicting a "Tom Cruise" "Brad Pitt" of his generation...yes, he is that good.

So...if you haven't watched Dallas, by the way...Josh is from "D" Town Texas...the season finale is next week...but I would recommend watching the reruns of season one first...it is worth it...

I give Josh Henderson talent 4 Red Hots!

The Exes: TV Land Series

The Exes:  TV Land Series:  Wed. 10:30/9:30 central

I love to laugh so I am always looking for a light comedy that will make me smile.  I have found that with The Exes on TV Land.

I am a huge fan of Kristen Johnston who plays Holly Brooks.  She reminds me of Lucille Ball.  Her comedy is sometimes over the top but she makes you laugh.  You will remember her from "Third Rock from the Sun" and the movie "The Flintstones" when she played Wilma...The cast works well together I have always liked Donald Faison and Wayne Knight...Knight was my favorite person to hate on Seinfield and I am growing to like Kelly Stables and David Alan Basche.

All three guys are recently divorced.  Holly was their lawyer and now their landlord and neighbor.  The story lines pretty much revolve around them in their apartment and a bar they frequent...the single life...and the fun of dating after being divorced.

It is one that I DVR and watch when I have some free time...but it is worth the watch.

I hope TV Land keeps The Exes...sometimes you just need to laugh.

I give "The Exes" 2 Red Hots!

Nashville: New ABC Series:

Nashville:  New ABC Series:  Oct 10th, 2012

I was looking for up coming series and found that the critics like this one on ABC.  If you are a country music fan, I bet you will like it.

The description on the ABC page reads: "A legendary queen of country music struggles to maintain her place in the spotlight while dealing with an ambitious rising pop-country vixen who wants to knock her off the throne."

I am sure that Hayden Panettiere plays the vixen and I bet that Connie Britton plays the legend.  Not sure I will like it but I am glad to see that ABC is trying something new.  Lets face it...it could be a lawyer or hospital series...

Check out Nashville on ABC Oct. 10th.

Hope Springs: Premier August 8, 2012

Hope Springs:  Comedy

Hope Springs will be in theaters August 8, 2012.

I am always looking for a good comedy.  Everyone likes to laugh and looking at this cast, I bet it will be a good movie.  Now, I am sure it is for an older audience...those 40 plus...but with Steve Carrell, Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep...I will watch it just for the actors.

The movie is about a couple who have been married for years and they want to spice things up a bit...I can imagine with Steve Carrell...I am going to laugh...this movie reminds me a bit of the one "It's Complicated" with Meryl Streep...Steve Martin and Alex Baldwin...and I loved the movie "Date Night" with Carrell...both were romantic comedies for 40 plus and I loved it...laughed out loud watching "Date Night" several times.

So, I am suggesting this movie to everyone who has been married for a little while and wants a laugh...
